Focus and Strategy
After several years working in sales, I’ve come to see that performance isn’t just about skill or technique. It’s deeply tied to how we think, regulate emotion, and make decisions under pressure. Francis Writes exists to explore that intersection.
This site is for people at different stages of their careers, whether you’re new to sales, established in your role, or looking to improve how you operate day to day. The focus is not only on selling but on developing the mindset required to perform consistently, think clearly, and adapt over time.
A central belief here is that in sales, mindset precedes results. People mirror emotional states, and confidence, hesitation, and clarity are often felt before they are articulated. In today’s environment, technical competence alone is rarely enough, yet discussions about thinking, emotion, and internal narrative are often overlooked. This site aims to bring those conversations forward.
Sales thinking extends far beyond the job itself. Interviews, negotiations, major life decisions, and relationships all involve persuasion, self-presentation, and emotional awareness. Understanding these dynamics can improve not only how you sell but also how you decide and operate more broadly.
The ideas shared here aim to be clear and actionable. Some are straightforward and easy to implement, while others explore more advanced concepts for those ready to go deeper. This site is not for quick wins or shortcuts. It’s for people willing to think long-term, practice patience, and build sustainable improvement rather than short-term spikes in performance.
I don’t claim expertise. This is a perspective shaped by experience, reflection, and observation. Take what’s useful, leave what isn’t. The work continues regardless.
